Agrarian Urbanites practice Agrarian Urbanism; growing edibles instead of ornamental plants in or near urban centers. Agrarian Urbanites are urban farmers who want to bring the farm closer to town.
The Agrarian Urbanites began as The Agrarian Urbanite, which was the title of the monthly online newsletter. The format switched to an online journal in early 2010 when April’s newsletter wasn’t written due to increased spring garden tasks. Each new garden task yielded new gardening information that couldn’t wait for monthly publication.
The new online format also brought a name change that is more community oriented. There are many who practice regenerative agriculture and many who would like to begin to practice. Though none of us consider ourselves to be complete gurus on the subject, we have much to teach and share. The Agrarian Urbanites focus on findings, experiments, philosophies, and news about agricultural practices and happenings.
The Agrarian Urbanites are dedicated to providing practical agricultural education focused on sustainable, regenerative and organic techniques.
The Agrarian Urbanites are guides, advocates and engineers for creating balanced, healthier and sustainable communities & neighborhoods.
The Agrarian Urbanites hope to restore Spirit, Humankind, and Earth by being catalysts for folks to think beyond the garden, building foundations of knowledge, and inspiring action.
